Growing up in a family of small business owners and entrepreneurs, Craig Baun learned from a young age the value of hard work, initiative and unwavering commitment to putting clients first in everything you do.

He has been a pacesetter in the wealth management industry for over a quarter of a century. In a visit to Craig Baun’s downtown Calgary office, you cannot help but notice an impressive accumulation of achievement awards, industry accolades and recognition pieces. More recent awards include the Globe and Mail Canada’s Top Wealth Advisor 2021, and Wealth Professional magazine’s Top 50 Advisors Canada 2022.

Craig himself is much more interested and at ease when speaking about the team of highly regarded professionals that he has built around him. He shares his gratitude and pride for being a part of the success of his clients, who he terms as “remarkable people”. The strong bonds, relationships and friendships he has built with his clients continue to drive Craig.

Craig is founder of the Baun Investment Group team, and Senior Portfolio Manager, and Senior Investment Advisor at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth. He is proud of his part in building a truly independent alternative, by opening one of the first Wellington-Altus offices in Calgary, the city he loves to call home. Craig is excited to be part of a business that is growing for the right reasons. “There is no pretentiousness or entitlement here, just a can-do, common-sense attitude that believes in putting the client first,” he says.

Craig is actively involved in and a strong advocate for several local charities focused on elderly support and housing, as well as children’s illnesses.

He and his wife, Luanne, love to spend quality family time with their three active boys, In addition to having served on local community sports boards, Craig continues to coach hockey for one of his sons.
