{"id":1896,"date":"2023-06-22T20:37:14","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T20:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advisor.wellington-altus.ca\/coastwood\/?p=1896"},"modified":"2024-12-05T16:27:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T16:27:03","slug":"coastwoods-support-of-yana-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advisor.wellington-altus.ca\/coastwood\/2023\/06\/22\/coastwoods-support-of-yana-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"Coastwood\u2019s Support of YANA Charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please join me as I bike across Vancouver Island in Sean\u2019s memory to support Yana &#8211; an incredible local cause close to Seanie\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n<p>I will ride 1,100 kms from June 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0to July 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0for YANA in memory of our wonderful friend and colleague.\u00a0\u00a0We lost Seanie to cancer this spring and I wanted to support a charity important to her.\u00a0 Really big and small donations are welcome and much appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Donate now: \u00a0Click Below<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/raceroster.com\/events\/2023\/75365\/comox-bike-company-yana-ride\/pledge\/participant\/20570823\">Help Mark Purcell raise money Race Roster \u2014 Registration, Marketing, Fundraising<\/a><\/p>\n<p><u>Why YANA?<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seanie loved the YANA charity, and it is natural fit for this ride.<\/li>\n<li>YANA is a wonderful local charity to helps families in need of extra <span class=\"ui-provider gl b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">support<\/span><\/li>\n<li>You Are Not Alone (YANA) is a local non-profit society that provides accommodation and funding to Comox Valley families who need to travel outside the community for medical treatment for a child under 19 or for a pregnant mother.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>How far is 1,100 km and why this distance?<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the same as biking from Port Hardy B.C. to Victoria, B.C. and then back to Port Hardy. It is a long way.<\/li>\n<li>Well, someone at work challenged me to ride across Saskatchewan to Winnipeg which is 1,100 km.
