Mikaela Roche is an Investment Associate on our amazing administrative team here at Cresco Wealth Management. We asked Mikaela a few questions to help you get to know her better.
What is your favourite area of the business to work in?
I enjoy assisting clients when they call in. Being on the service team, I don’t always get to see our clients in person so it’s nice to be able to help them with any questions they have and get to know them better.
What do you think sets Cresco apart?
Our team is dynamic. Being such a big team allows us to help each other out and bounce ideas off one another. We also have great comradery in the office. Going to work is a lot more fun when you love the people you work with 😊.
How did you know you wanted to work in finance?
I’ve always been a numbers person. Math was my favourite subject growing up. When I was working at Cactus Club, I really loved the service industry and interacting with customers so when it came to my career, I knew I wanted to be on the services side of finance. That’s why financial services is the perfect fit for me.
Who is your favourite artist you’ve seen live?
I was a huge Shania Twain fan when I was little. My mom took me to see her when I was four because I had every song memorized. I’ve now seen her in concert three times! I’m a big Noah Kahan fan as of late. I’m going to see him live in March which I’m super excited about.
Do you have a favourite hobby right now?
I started running back in July. A couple of my friends signed up for a half marathon in Victoria so I thought it would be fun to join them. After the race in October, I got hooked. I’ve really enjoyed setting a goal for myself and training for it. I have another half marathon booked for June this year in Kelowna and possibly will train for the full marathon in Victoria in October.
What’s on your bucket list?
Travel. In 2020 I had a trip booked to go to Peru to hike Machu Picchu but that was unfortunately cancelled. Eventually, I want to rebook that trip. I would also love to go back to Europe and travel around some more. Iceland would be at the top of my list for sure.
Tell us about your furry friend in the photo.
Ozzy is a three-year-old mini-Australian Shepard. I decided to get him during COVID, like everyone else! He keeps me busy. I wanted a dog that I could run and hike with and he’s perfect for that. He definitely forces me to stay active. He’s the sweetest little guy and loves everyone (a little too much sometimes). He’s also extremely smart so we’ve been working on some new tricks!.
