Cresco Cares

Cresco Cares: A Year in Review

As we near the end of another remarkable year, we want to take a moment to reflect on Cresco Cares’ charitable initiatives in 2024, including our work with our chosen charity of the year, KidSport Calgary.

What is Cresco Cares?

In 2017, we created a charity committee called Cresco Cares with a shared desire to make a meaningful impact in our community. With the passion and dedication of our team, we began focusing our efforts on selecting a primary charity each year, complemented by supporting smaller initiatives and volunteer projects. This work has been transformative—not just for the community but for our team as well. It’s strengthened our bonds, united us around a common purpose, and reminded us of the power of collective action.

Since its inception, Cresco Cares has raised over $150,000 for local charities, and we’re just getting started. Every dollar, every hour volunteered, and every act of kindness is a step toward building a better future for those around us.

Why KidSport?

Selecting a charity to support is always a thoughtful and heartfelt decision. With many of us on the Cresco team raising children of our own, we deeply understand the value of teamwork and the life lessons that sports provide. It was heartbreaking to learn that so many children are unable to participate in sports due to financial barriers. KidSport’s mission to ensure every child can play resonated with us, and we’re proud to support the transformative work they do in our community.

The Impact We Made Together

With your help, we raised over $20,000 for KidSport this year! Here’s what Mirela Rahneva, KidSport Partnership Development Manager, shared about our partnership:

“Working with Cresco Wealth Management has been an inspiring and seamless experience. Their team’s generosity, creative fundraising initiatives, and dedication to making a difference have left a lasting impact on both KidSport Calgary and the children we serve. The funds raised went to supporting 57 children with registration fee assistance this year. These funds are more than numbers; they represent opportunities, joy and inclusion for kids who might otherwise miss out on the benefits of organized sports.”

Other Ways Cresco Gave Back in 2024

Beyond our work with KidSport, Cresco has supported numerous causes this year:

• Event Sponsorships: Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Rotary Kids at Heart, Golfing for Good, Bay Street Hoops for Dreams, The Lindsay Kimmett Memorial FoundationGEDFest, Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation, Calgary Food Bank, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation

• Volunteer Efforts: Canadian Blood Services, Terry Fox Run, Salvation Army Kettle Drive, mentorship program at Haskayne School of Business, 100 Women Who Care

Thank You

None of this would have been possible without you—our extended Cresco Community. Your unwavering support and generosity have allowed us to make a real difference this year, and we are truly grateful.

Together, we’re proving that small actions can lead to extraordinary impact.
