I know we\u2019re already very much into autumn, which means pumpkin spice everything season is in full force! My team has taken to the caf\u00e9s to hunt down the perfect pumpkin spice latte (PSL), and we\u2019ve compiled our ratings and thoughts below. From more metropolitan coffee shops like Deville, to local favourites like The Lazy Loaf, we\u2019ve tested several pumpkin-flavoured creations so you don\u2019t have to (unless of course, you want to)! Let\u2019s cut to the chase, shall we?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Good Earth (Bridgeland)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rating: 6.7\/10<\/p>\n

Order: Iced PSL with Almond Milk<\/p>\n

Notes: If you prefer your lattes on the less sweet side, this one\u2019s for you. The nutmeg-forward flavour gives it a slightly bitter taste, though it does accommodate dairy-free options like almond milk. Expect more spice than pumpkin, making it a good choice for those who don\u2019t want an overly sweet drink.<\/p>\n

Alforno<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rating: 8\/10<\/p>\n

Order: Iced PSL with Chai Cold Foam<\/p>\n

Notes: My team got this one half-sweet, which we would say is the right call. We really liked the amount of sweetness in this one, but think it could\u2019ve been a little more pumpkin-y. However, it does have a chai cold foam on top, which gives it a nice flavour. It\u2019s like the classic PSL but with a twist!<\/p>\n

Mobsquad<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rating: 8.5\/10<\/p>\n

Order: Hot PSL with Oat Milk<\/p>\n

Notes: Mobsquad might not be as well-known across the board, but they\u2019re in our building, so you know we had<\/em> to try theirs. If you prefer a pumpkin-forward latte, Mobsquad\u2019s PSL is your go-to. It\u2019s more pumpkin than spice, making it perfect for a chilly, rainy day. You won\u2019t want to miss their amazing 21st<\/sup> floor views of the city either!<\/p>\n

Deville (1st<\/sup> Street)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rating: 8.7\/10<\/p>\n

Order: Golden PSL with Regular Milk<\/p>\n

Notes: Deville\u2019s PSL stands out with a unique aroma that smells like apple crisp. The flavours are rich and comforting, but beware\u2014a large can be too much to handle if you’re not a die-hard pumpkin lover. A small size will give you just the right amount of fall coziness. They also have a White Chocolate PSL that you can try as well, which features very chai-like flavours. If you\u2019re a chai lover, that one could be the right one for you.<\/p>\n

Lazy Loaf<\/strong><\/p>\n

Order: Iced PSL with Pumpkin Spiced Whipped Cream<\/p>\n

Notes: Sweet at first, with a strong coffee aftertaste, this PSL has just the right amount of pumpkin. The spiced whipped cream adds a fun twist that\u2019ll transport you to a rustic fall scene. Cue the pumpkins!<\/p>\n

Starbucks<\/strong><\/p>\n

Order: Hot PSL with almond milk<\/p>\n

Notes: The classic! Starbucks nails the balance between pumpkin and spice every time. This is your quintessential \u201cfall in a cup\u201d experience. The great part of this one is if you\u2019re on the go, you can almost always find it.<\/p>\n

Good News (Inglewood)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rating: 9.2\/10<\/p>\n

Order: PSL with Oat Milk<\/p>\n

Notes: This PSL hits all the right notes\u2014balanced, not too sweet or too spicy, with a perfect blend of pumpkin and spice. Plus, the cozy ambiance of this caf\u00e9 makes it a great spot to unwind with your new favourite drink. The leaves are really showing off in the area right now, so head on down for a jaunt with your bike for the perfect autumn experience.<\/p>\n
