This month marks four years since the Wagner Investment Management Team joined Wellington-Altus Private Wealth — a milestone that invites reflection on how far we’ve come, what we’ve learned, and where we’re heading next.
The past four years have brought immense change — in the world, in markets, and in the lives of many of our clients. From the uncertainty of a global pandemic to rising interest rates and shifting economic conditions, we’ve had the privilege of helping people navigate through it all with confidence and clarity.

Susyn Wagner and Karen Routledge mark 4 years with Wellington-Altus Private Wealth, celebrating with a personalized dessert.
“I’m proud of making the move to Wellington-Altus four years ago,” shares Susyn Wagner. “It reminded me that true change is good, and complacency isn’t. It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it. I’m especially proud of how our team stepped up during these past four years, guiding our clients — particularly those entering retirement during the uncertainty of COVID, rising interest rates, inflation, and political uncertainty. Providing them with confidence and clarity has truly mattered to me.”
Growth That’s Supported — and Shared
One of the defining characteristics of our time at Wellington-Altus has been the support for professional growth — something that has created lasting impact for us and our clients.
“One of the reasons I’m so glad we made the move to Wellington-Altus is the support we’ve received along the way,” says Karen Routledge. “In my own case, I had a long-standing goal of becoming a Portfolio Manager. The team here not only encouraged that ambition but actively supported me in achieving it — which I’m proud to say became a reality earlier this year.”
Supportive culture also means making space to give back. Karen adds:
“Being part of a firm that values growth and mentorship has also opened new doors, like the opportunity to give back through the Women of Wellington initiative, where I’ve been able to mentor other women in our industry.”
It Takes a Team
We often say our clients are at the centre of everything we do — and so is our team. The dedication behind the scenes is a key reason we’re able to deliver consistently high service and trusted advice.
“We’re also incredibly proud of our associate team — their dedication, care, and follow-through behind the scenes make it possible for us to deliver the level of service our clients count on. They’re an essential part of what makes our practice thrive,” says Karen.

Susyn adds:
“I’m grateful for Karen Routledge—her partnership and support have made a huge difference. I’m also thankful for our dedicated team—Salma, Patrick, Jon, Mike Troppmann, and Noa — for their contributions and commitment.”
A Shift in Perspective
Making the leap from a bank-owned firm to an independent platform brought with it a mindset shift — one that deepened our commitment to tailored, client-first advice.
“Being at Wellington-Altus has given me the flexibility to tailor our advice and strategies around what clients truly need,” says Susyn. “It was a big change from a bank-owned environment, and stepping into partnership shifted my perspective, making me view decisions with an ownership mindset.”
Looking Ahead
Four years in, we remain focused on what matters most — our clients, and the trust they place in us to help them make smart, meaningful financial decisions. It’s a responsibility we take seriously and a relationship we deeply value.
“Most of all, I’m deeply grateful for the trust our clients placed in us to take this journey together,” says Karen. “We truly love what we do, and at the heart of it all is one simple reason: we care about helping people.”

A sweet surprise to mark 4 years — the Wagner Investment Management Team celebrates with a custom dessert platter.
As we look to the future, our energy remains on evolving our service and deepening the value we bring.
“Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep growing and evolving — always focused on delivering an unforgettable client experience,” says Karen.
“I’m looking forward to making our client experience even better — simpler, clearer, and more personal — so that every client feels fully supported and confident,” adds Susyn.
