My Favourite Winter Activities for the Holiday Season

Winter Activities

Holiday break is almost upon us, and I can’t wait to get up to all our favourite winter activities. From skiing to skating, there are so many amazing ways to get moving, while cashing in on some quality time out in nature. My family is always on the move, so I’m sharing some ideas for what we’ll be doing this upcoming break.

1. Skating

We love heading out to local outdoor rinks, skates in hand and dog in tow. There’s something so festive about being out on the lagoon in Bowness Park playing a bit of hockey and drinking a hot cup of cocoa. Truly nothing better!

2. Tobogganing

Break out that toboggan, because winter is here! We spend a lot of our time sledding at the River Park dog park, which means the whole family gets in on some fun—Bentley and the kids. Sledding feels like an essential holiday pastime and I’m here for it.

3. Skiing

Winter means ski season, too, which we wait for all year. In the past, we have spent a significant part of our break skiing near the cottage. Panorama is the place to be, but closer to home, you can find us at Sunshine or Lake Louise.

4. Snowshoeing

While we’re talking about Panorama, when we’re at the cottage, we’ll take a morning or afternoon to break out the snowshoes and hike around Panorama Golf Course. We’d completely sink into the snow without our snowshoes, but when we have them, we float across the top like it’s nothing. Can’t wait for these moments to come!

I want to hear, do you resonate with these winter activities? What are your favourites? Let me know by heading to my Wealth With Julie Instagram, and keep an eye out for video documentation of these times. They’ll be up there!
