(Wellington-Altus), its private wealth division, has been recognized as Canada’s top-rated investment dealer in the 2025 Brokerage Report Card for the sixth consecutive year.

Achieving an overall rating of 9.5, the results highlight the success of Wellington-Altus’ independent business model that gives advisors the tools and support they need to run their practice as they see fit, and in their clients’ best interest. This approach has quickly established Wellington-Altus as one of the fastest-growing wealth management firms in Canada, set to achieve $40 billion in assets under administration in just over eight years.

“When we started the Wellington-Altus journey, our goal was to reinvent wealth management in Canada,” said Shaun Hauser, Founder & CEO of Wellington-Altus Financial Inc. “With six years of stellar Brokerage Report Card results, we’ve solidified our position as a leading destination for Canada’s top advisors seeking unparalleled support, collaborative partnerships and an innovative mindset.”

The 2025 Brokerage Report Card, conducted by industry publication Investment Executive, measures Canada’s top investment dealers based on various criteria that are rated by a firm’s own advisors.

Wellington-Altus excelled in all 27 categories, leading in 21, including receptiveness to advisor feedback, products and support for high-net-worth clients, financial planning support and technology, business development and marketing support, and remote system access and transactions.

“None of these results would be possible without the efforts and commitment from one of the most talented teams in the industry and the valued feedback from our advisors,” added Shaun, “Thank you to all our advisors and corporate staff for helping us reach yet another tremendous milestone.”

The firm also received top marks for its overall culture, with the highest rating for its leadership team and strategic focus. It also maintained an unmatched net promoter score of 97.7.

August Market Insights: Beyond The AI Bottleneck

A leadership transition is already underway, but much of the market remains anchored to the last trade. Investors are still crowded into semiconductors, memory and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure supported by passive flows and a sell-side that continues to extrapolate an era of outsized earnings surprises that has largely run its course. The earnings revision cycle in AI-adjacent infrastructure is maturing. The bottleneck trade is crowded, over-owned and increasingly exhausted at current valuations. Tocqueville’s line belongs here: what is being mistaken for novelty is, in fact, a familiar late-cycle pattern, consensus convergence, narrow leadership and risk concentrated in the assets investors perceived as safest.

April Market Insights: Bretton Woods 2.0, the New Great Game, and Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term is not just another burst of tariff theatre; it is the opening move in a new great game over energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and money. By neutralizing Iran and Venezuela, squeezing Cuba, binding Canada, and courting Russia, Washington is trying to re-anchor oil in U.S. dollars and push BRICS’ [1] monetary ambitions to the margins. Layered on top are digital rails—dollar-backed stablecoins, tokenized Treasuries, gold, and even a strategic bitcoin reserve—designed to harden, not retire, King Dollar. If it works, Bretton Woods 2.0 will arrive not as a conference, but as the unannounced sequel to a crisis-ridden decade, with the U.S. once again writing the rules.

June Market Insights: America at 250

America reaches its 250th anniversary not as a fallen hegemon, but as the dominant centre of global hard power, monetary power, and frontier innovation. It still sits astride the world’s resource base through energy, agriculture, and continental depth; it still issues the reserve currency at the core of global trade and finance; and it still leads the race to build artificial intelligence (AI) as the next digital platform. Yet precisely because American power remains so large, the visible breakdown of the post–Second World War rules-based order has become impossible to ignore. To anyone who has read German historian and philosopher Oswald Spengler’s The Decline of the West (1918), this is not a surprise but a pattern: history is not a straight line of progress. Instead, it is the record of civilizations that rise as living cultures harden into systems and eventually exhaust the moral energy that made them great in the first place. America did not choose this time, but it has been born into it.
