The holiday season is all about giving, and at Aspire Wealth Partners, we are thrilled to continue our tradition of the 12 Days of Giving in 2025

In place of sending Christmas cards, we are embracing a tradition that reflects our core values and commitment to the Calgary community. Over 12 days, every other business day leading up to Christmas, and then daily during Christmas week, we will spotlight a charity chosen by one of our team members. Each organization holds personal meaning and embodies the true spirit of giving back. To support their important work, each featured charity will receive a minimum donation of $1,000. Together, we celebrate a season of gratitude, generosity, and community impact.

On the tenth day of giving, Josh Hosein, our Senior Wealth Planner, nominated the Baddeck Volunteer Fire Department.

Why? “I’m choosing to donate to the Baddeck Volunteer Fire Department again this year, because it serves as the backbone of emergency response in Baddeck, Cape Breton, protecting the community and visitors along the iconic Cabot Trail,” said Josh. Staffed by Josh’s sister, Alisha and 25 other dedicated, unpaid volunteers, the department responds to a wide range of emergencies, from fires and motor vehicle accidents to technical rescues, all while operating with limited municipal funding. Their reliance on donations to maintain critical equipment like fire trucks, rescue gear, and aging radios—along with recent purchases like SCBA air cylinders and upcoming needs like replacing 25-year-old vehicles—highlights the financial strain they face. Beyond emergencies, their commitment to community events like parades and fundraising for the Atlantic Burn Camp for kids shows their heart for Baddeck. Supporting them ensures they can continue their life-saving work and keep their community safe.
