Blaine has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry both as a financial advisor and owner of two highly successful Manitoba-based financial services companies. He is a chartered accountant by professional training (CPA, CA), a Certified Investment Manager (CIM) and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Industry (FCSI).

As a financial advisor, Blaine’s differentiating factor is his ability to provide investment and tax advice to high-net-worth clients on matters regarding personal investing, estate planning, trusts and philanthropical giving.

Blaine started in the financial services industry in 1991 working with Charlie Spiring at Midland Walwyn. In 1993, Blaine joined Charlie and four others as founders of Wellington West Capital Inc. Executing on Charlie’s vision, Blaine played a key role in helping to build the company into one of the largest privately owned investment firms in Canada at the time. The company was sold to National Bank in 2011 with Blaine assuming the role of Senior Investment Advisor and Senior Vice President at
National Bank Financial. In 2017, Blaine again joined Charlie and two other partners in founding Wellington-Altus Private Wealth where he continues to provide financial advice to his clients.

Blaine credits much of his success as a financial advisor to the long-term relationships developed with clients over the years. He believes “if you treat people well, good things will happen.”
