Senior Investment Advisor

I started in the financial services industry in 2002 and have the privilege of getting out of bed every day to work my dream job. Wealth management is my passion, and since investing is emotional, my role as a Senior Investment Advisor allows me to counsel my clients to see the big picture. The scarcest commodity in my clients’ lives is their time. My team and I work tirelessly to manage clients’ wealth so they can focus their energy and brilliance on what they do best. Together we create the financial freedom to enjoy their lives and create lasting wealth for them, their families, and their future legacy.

My clientele ranges from entrepreneurs and executives to not-for-profit organizations and professionals such as doctors, lawyers, and accountants. My focus is on tax-advantaged investment solutions for business owners and well compensated executives. I work with many families that have cross-border concerns working or owning property outside of Canada. By working alongside my clients in a partnership, we achieve their goals. I am able to provide behavioural coaching, solid financial planning, and world-class investment solutions. By taking the time to learn my clients’ motivations, I can take a multi-generational approach to build and maintain their wealth.

When working with clients that want to build their wealth at the same speed they are building their careers, we accomplish their goals by understanding how different corporate, trust, or tax-deferral structures can provide the most efficient performance. At the end of the day, it is not the rate of return you see online or in your statements that matters, it is the money in your jeans that allows you to live the life you have always dreamed about.

I hold a Bachelor of Management in Finance (B.Mgt) from the University of Lethbridge, as well as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP ®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM ®), and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations.

Outside of work, I am very involved in the community as I believe we all have a duty to give back to those less fortunate than ourselves. In 2003, I started the BMI Charity Classic annual golf tournament which raises funds for the Alberta Children’s Hospital. In 2012, my wife Terri-Lynn and I funded annual bursary programs at our high schools to provide access to post-secondary education for students that may not otherwise have the financial means to achieve their full potential. Previously I have had the privilege of being involved with the United Way Day of Caring, Junior Achievement Calgary, and have served on the board of the University of Lethbridge Alumni Association.

A proud father of two, when I am not at the rink or the golf course with my children, I spend my “spare time” in the kitchen as an amateur chef and a certified Level 3 WSET sommelier.
